Lions Club Mombasa Bahari
Making A difference at Bamburi Village For the Blind & Physically Challenged:
On Sunday 7th April 2013, Lions Club Mombasa Bahari braved the muddy road leading to the Bamburi Village for the Blind.
This is the commitment of Lions Club of Mombasa Bahari as “We Serve” in a “World of Service with a Vision for a Greener Planet”. Lions Taher and Reezvana can attest to this after being pulled out of the mud by Lion Mwami!
The activity began with songs of jubilation from the villagers for receiving guests. Members got to work by packing the various
food rations in bags for the 10 families. The program began with the distribution of the white canes which had been received
from the District. 8 blind people received these canes and were overjoyed and spread word to other blind people on the street.
After this each family was given food rations and feasted on juice, biscuits & sweets. Adults and all children received clothes
donated by Lion Reezvana .
To crown it all members were entertained by song and dance in which members also joined. Thanks to Lion Akil Haji, Lion
Akil Adamjee, Lion Zainul, Lion Tasneem, Lion Mustafa, Lion Rashida, Lion Taher, Lion Reezvana, Lion Mwami and the
Convenor of the Service Activity for the more than two hours spent at the village to make a difference in their lives.
