LIONS BAHARI CELEBRATE WORLD SERVICE DAY
During the month of October Lions worldwide celebrate World Service Day by organizing special events for the less fortunate members of the society.
This Lionistic Year our Convener Lion Reezvana organized a special day for the visually impaired children in Likoni - The Salvation Army - Likoni School for the Blind. The school caters for 160 children.
Lion Shoeb welcomed the children, teachers and staff and said that “the members are extremely glad to spend their day with these special children”.
President, Lion Rashida then welcomed all the children and said that she feels extremely happy and touched by seeing the smiles on these lovely children. She told the head-teacher that the Club will try to assist them in solving the problem of heavy smoke that fills up in the kitchen when they do the cooking.
The head-teacher said that they were very thankful to the Club for their wonderful donations of various raw food materials like: cooking oil, rice, sugar, biscuits, maize-meal, etc. and for the hot lunch served with soft drink, water and a banana.
Every child also received a bathing soap, tooth-paste and a tooth-brush.
The day ended with prayers to the Al-Mighty.
The total amount to carry out this worthwhile activity was Kshs: 150000/-
