LIONS CLUB OF MOMBASA BAHARI’S CELEBRATE WORLD SERVICE DAY
On Sunday 11th October 2015 the Club organized a World Service Day activity at Haller Park for about 120 children from four children’s' homes namely Mombasa Children’s Home (Salvation Army), Swabur Orphanage, Canaan Orphanage and Bamburi Village for the Blind.
It was a day's outing. The children were picked from their homes from as early as 7am.
At the park we first started with Read a Story and then they were all taken for a tour of the park, feeding the giraffes and then entertained with a magic show and face painting.
At lunch time all the children were served with hot cooked lunch with a bottle of water, soda, cake, bananas and sweets. We also donated old clothes and toys to some of the very young children.
After lunch some of the children entertained all with songs and dances.
Congratulations to our Convener, Lion Mary Mwami and her team for a very well organized activity. A classic World Service Day activity.
If you have seen this as a worthy cause and wish to sponsor a similar service activity in the future through our club than please contact us and we shall advise how you can do so.
